The sacred, precious child
So helpless in that bed
This infant to the world
His father reconciled
The sacred woman’s womb
A pain that knows none else
Until her blessed hands
Would lay him in the tomb
The sacred stable’s walls
That work upon our eyes
Those orbs their mortal stare
Upon the babe are called
The sacred angels’ song
That chorus filled the sky
Yet now fills heaven’s halls
And there we’ll sing along
The sacred evening’s night
A canvass perfect black
So there upon the star
Could shine it’s brightest light
We praise the child
The sacred child...
